• A Keepership is awarded to the first person to claim it.
• A Keepership must be claimed in a Keepership thread. If there is no current Keepership thread posted make a new one!
• A Keepership must be seen by the general public eye, or generally 'assumed' to exist, for it to be legitimately claimed. NB: Anything can be claimed (program, costume, technical element, body part, personal effects...just to prompt you!) provided it relates to Alexei Konstantinovich Yagudin and fulfills the above criteria.
• No "future" Keeperships may be claimed. For example, you may not make claim to any future programs, future skates, future wives, future pants, future hamburgers, you get the idea... It used to be allowed, but then it began to create havoc among the Keepers, so it was scratched back in 2001.
• Synonyms are not accepted. For example, if you see that Alexei's car is claimed, you can't request his vehicle, but that's an easy one. A little more complicated would be requesting his professional dedication to his career when you see that his work ethic is already taken. (By Julie, of course!)

However,
...two kinds of keepership claims have evolved which can roughly be divided into:

• Specific: when the item, activity or event is directly specified.

• Alexei's name
• Alexei's religion
• Alexei's mind
• Alexei's soul
  (The guy does deserve to keep SOMETHING of himself! lol)

Note on claiming items related to AKY's career

• You can only claim what has been debuted and therefore 'seen' by the general public eye. Thus you cannot claim a program, costume, or element (technical or artistic) before it has been officially performed.
• When a claim is made for a specific program, it automatically includes all performances of said program and it's musical arrangement (unless specifically stated otherwise). It does not include the costume or any props, which must be claimed separately (but possibly in the same breath!)
• In reference to jumps, any claim for a jump automatically includes all performances of said jump and all variations (i.e. singles, doubles, triples, quads!), if and when performed. Jump keeperships also include any performances of said jump in combination with others, although other jumps will remain under the keepership of other Keepers. In order to protect the rights of individual Keepers, jump combinations cannot be claimed.

The Terms & Conditions of The Imperial Office of Tsarina Seana of the AKY Keeperships List

As Tsarina of the AKY Keeperships List I hereby have three main roles:

• As Keeper of the AKY Keeperships List, I am responsible for the preservation and regular revision of the List, informing Grand Dutchess Katya with all amendments when necessary.
• As Referee of the AKY Keeperships List, I have principal judicial rights in the resolution of all disputes, controversies, and queries pertaining to the Keepership of all items relating to one Alexei Konstantinovich Yagudin, and in conjunction with the Highest Administrating One, I am compelled to promote peaceful and diplomatic relations between all Keepers.
• As Defender of the AKY Keeperships List, I am committed to defending all Keepers and their rights as the Original Claimant to the Sole Keepership (unless otherwise stated) of such items relating to one Alexei Konstantinovich Yagudin from theft, embezzlement, fraud, pillage, hijacking and larceny, as and when attempted by fellow Keepers and/or outside persons (excluding Alexei Konstantinovich Yagudin of course!).

NB: I have no jurisdiction or responsibility whatsoever regarding the Keepership of any items unrelated to Alexei Konstantinovich Yagudin. This includes other skaters such as Sasha Abt, Alexei Urmanov, Irish music, boybands, Michael Flatley's feet (it has been tried!), etcetera. Where these claims are concerned, you can fight it out amongst yourselves...LOL!
